Internship at Pennsylvania Forensic Associates - Master’s Level
PFA is accepting applications for mater’s level counseling internship positions at the Media and West Chester offices. Individuals interested in an internship position should have had classes that include individual and/or group counseling, professional ethics, and psychopathology. This position requires that students have a high degree of professionalism, the ability to manage counter transference and maintain ethical boundaries. Students should also have strong written and verbal skills, be detail oriented, and be able to work in a collaborative work environment. This position offers the student experience working with adult and juvenile forensic populations. Students applying for this position should have a strong interest in the forensic field and interest in working with clients who have domestic violence, general violence, and sexual behavior issues. This position requires evening hours.
The duties for this position include co-facilitating group therapy, observing and or facilitating individual therapy, observing the evaluation process, participating in clinical supervision, documenting in charts, learn risk assessments, and participating in state parole and county probation meetings. The internship can be tailored to meet the needs of the student and program.
